My name is Barbara Dallmer the owner of A Shear Distinction Hair & Nail Salon
I have been a hairdresser for 25 years starting my career early, always knowing that hair was me. I love the creative artsy side of the business. Hair has always been my passion there is nothing I dislike, challanges are good. My career started in New York where I was born raised and trained by some difficult hairdressers I might add which made me the hairdresser I am today. Moved to Wilmington in 1991 and love every moment here. Working many places here as most of my clients/family could tell you however, landing in my own business called A Shear Distinction, In which I am very proud of.
The name A Shear Distinction came about one day driving in my car wanting to have my own business some place that would be different than any other place I have ever been, (like having a small semi private place with a relaxing atmosphere) not being able to remember names that came to me and they would come of course driving never hitting a light to wright it down, then A Shear Distinction came to me and I thought oh you wont remember this one either and sure enough I did and it stuck to me. A Shear Distinction has now been in business for 4 years and I would like to thank everyone for putting me where I am today because with out my clients who are like family and my family I would not be were I am right now. Oh and of course my talent. Being able to keep my prices reasonable is an indication of how much I care for my clients and new clients. My motto for A Shear Distinction is:
